Tim Kennedy may be perhaps the baddest man to ever step in the octagon. He is probably the only fighter ever to have actually killed someone before (allegedly). His military career is even more distinguished than his MMA career.

He was an army ranger, special forces soldier, sniper, hand to hand combat instructor and has even been awarded a Bronze Star Medal. Not to mention his MMA career where he holds a dominant win over current Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping.

So who better to show us some brutal self-defense moves that have been tried and tested in the field of combat? In the video Tim says “While we’re close we want to be able to do as much damage as we can, as fast as we can.”

He goes over the importance of protecting his hands from damage so it won’t effect his ability to use his weapons. He much prefers palm strikes and elbows while in close range. Tim shows us a particular devastating combination where he delivers a palm strike to his opponents nose, gouges his eyes then follows that up with an elbow strike – all in a few quick motions.

The second scenario he goes over is a situation where he has an opponent attack him from behind. Much like in BJJ or MMA, you have to control the opponents hands and look to create space – all while doing as much damage to your opponent as possible including head butts and foot stomps.

He leads us through a step by step process until you are side to side with your attacker. “Once you get off to the side the entire realm is yours. Their face is bleeding you’ve maybe smashed their foot now you can actually do big damage.” He then shows us some brutal knee strikes which is used to finish the fight all the way to the ground.
