Julianna Pena, winner of The Ultimate Fighter season 13, got herself into some trouble in the wee hours of the morning back on December 20, 2015.
Shortly after Pena and her Sikjitsu training partner Josh Gow has been allegedly involved in a street brawl that began when Gow decided to physically defend Pena from a verbal assault, they attempted to enter Zola’s Bar in Spokane, Washington so that Gow could use the restroom to clean his more than slightly bloodied face. Employees of Zola’s Bar informed Pena and Gow that they could not enter because the bar was already closed. According to one witness, Pena was unwilling to accept this, became extremely angry and kicked the employee of the bar in the groin.
Witnesses stated that moments later, after being confronted by the owner of the bar, Pena then kicked him in the groin, not once, but twice. Pena and Gow again attempted to enter the bar, but were locked out. At this point, witnesses say that a visibly drunken Gow rubbed his bloody face on the bar’s window in an apparent act of rebellion against their unwillingness to let what they believed to be two visibly inebriated people who had just been in a brawl into the bar after closing time.
Recently surfaced police body camera footage shows the aftermath of this event as well as Pena’s interaction with the police and subsequent arrest.
Although it is not entirely clear exactly what occurred before the police arrived at the scene, Pena appears to have been drinking and tells police in the video that she was denied her human right, knowing the owner of the bar and bartender who served me all night, to wash his face!
Whatever that means.
Julianna Pena’s night ended with being handcuffed and arrested for assaulting the bar employee who denied her entry and bar owner who tried speaking with her afterwards. She is due in court for a preliminary hearing on January 19th.
