Mike Tyson was widely hailed as the greatest heavyweight boxer of his generation. Jon Jones is inarguably the greatest light heavyweight in mixed martial arts history; so far, the only man to beat him is himself.

The pair attended WWE SummerSlam, and watched former UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam. Afterwards they engaged in an amiable slap boxing fantasy superfight in front of the Staples Center.

As one of Jones’ friends gets a chair out of the way, the pair slap box. Tyson apparently lands a shot on Jones, but instead of escalating, it ends with the former WBC, WBA and IBF boxing champ engaging in a hugfest/back body lock.

“He’ll kill me,” said Jones. “He set that one up.”

When former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones ran a rental into a pregnant woman’s vehicle, breaking her arm, and then ran up a hill and over fence, he destroyed a significant part of his career. He was stripped of his title, suspended by the UFC, and lost virtually all of his blue chip sponsors.

Gone were Gatorade, Reebok and EA Sports.

I honestly feel like things are going to better now than they were before because of my outlook on life and some of the things I’ve been through,” said Jones recently. “I really believe things are going to be better than they were before so if I don’t get back to working with the companies that I was with in the past, I believe that there are better companies out there for me. I ain’t got nothing but time to prove this to be true…”
