Khamzat Chimaev’s Twitter fingers have been quite busy over the last 24-hours, as he’s called for a variety of combat sports matchups with UFC legends and a current contender in Colby Covington.

Callouts on Twitter are all the rage in the fight game. Especially, if you are your promotion’s resident wrecking machine and getting a booking the old-fashioned way proves difficult. That is the situation for Chechen crusher Chimaev (10-0).

The unbeaten, top-10 welterweight has an open dance card following his dominant victory at UFC 267, and he is in search of a new tussle partner for a matchup sometime soon. With that pursuit in mind, the 27-year-old took to his Twitter account on Monday night and Tuesday morning in hopes of landing a booking, and it didn’t even need to be in MMA.

Khamzat Chimaev calls out Brock Lesnar and Georges St-Pierre?

First, there were the Monday evening callouts of a couple of retired UFC champions. With one of the matchups being something out of a video game than an actual real-world possibility.

“Let’s fight till one man leave the cage [Brock Lesnar],” Chimaev wrote.

“New King of UFC vs a Legend. What you think [Georges St-Pierre]?,” he then posted a few hours later.

In a surprise to no one, neither tweet earned a response from the Octagon greats. Especially, since Lesnar (5-3) is making boatloads of cashing to win occasional squash matches in WWE, and the size differential between the two makes the matchup a non-star. As for St-Pierre (26-2), he seems as content as ever in retirement at 40, since it has been radio silence from him regarding a return to the Octagon for more than a year.

When other legends don’t answer, calling out Daniel Cormier never fails

However, things did get a smidge interesting as around the time he tweeted at “Rush,” Chimaev also slung a salvo at former two-division champion Daniel Cormier. Calling for a wrestling match with the former Olympian. In this case, the Russian actually received a response, but it was more in the vein of a “you must be kidding me” retort from the current ESPN analyst.

“In a real wrestling match? Are you crazy Khamzat? Love that you’re confident but brother this is 10-0 DC!” Cormier wrote.

Chimaev switched gears to reality-based bookings and a clash with Colby Covington

With “Borz’s” fantasy booking seemingly done, he switched gears and instead pushed for a scrap on Tuesday that’s actually a possibility. That being a matchup with former welterweight title challenger Colby Covington (16-3). Last week, “Chaos” went public on being open to a fight with the “handout generation” veteran of Brave CF. And that he would end up hospitalizing Chimaev in what he viewed as an unbalanced matchup.

Of course, word got back to Chimaev and chose to fire several shots on Tuesday at the former interim champion. Calling him a “b*tch” and coward, who does not truly represent his nation like the ultra-patriotic Covington claims.

“Let’s go bitch, fight with me [Colby Covington] I will take your [heart],” Chimaev started by saying.

“Call the cops, I’m coming for you [Colby Covingtonn].”

“You do not represent USA, I represent USA. You represent cowardice,” he added in a final tweet.

Covington has not yet responded to Chimaev’s comments, but for a man that is never short on taunts and trash talk — even in defeat — there will no doubt be an answer sooner than later.

The 33-year-old last fought earlier this month at UFC 268, where he came up short in his second bid to dethrone reigning welterweight king Kamaru Usman. Like their first fight, this bout inside New York’s Madison Square Garden was a highly competitive affair “The Nigerian Nightmare” won by unanimous decision.

Is Chimaev vs Covington the fight to make early in the new year?
