If you love a knockout, wouldn’t you love two at the same time twice as much?
Whether it be boxing, MMA, or Muay Thai there will always be a slight chance of a double knockout. Although it seems as unlikely as winning the Powerball, there have been multiple recorded instances where it has happened.
My question is if you’re cheering for a fighter and this happens, are you to be elated or disappointed?

7) Kerwin Sherrill vs. Derek Thompson
Even though the two fighters completely scramble each other’s eggs, both manage to recover and continue to fight for a short while longer until Derek Thompson is able to finish Sherrill by TKO.

6) Leo vs. Migi
This one simply comes from a sparring match in a gym, but if you are watching the full video and see the reaction of those surrounding the ring, you’d think it was a main event at Madison Square Garden.

5) Branden Bishop vs. Braedon Ward
-Hard rock MMA 43, February 4th, 2012
The two men begin to struggle over a takedown and in the process bounce back against the cage, to be more precise the cage door. Without it being properly secured the cage door swings open, leaving the fighters to fall out and onto the hard pavement below. If fighters are going to fight, they should receive their injuries from their opponent, not faulty equipment that surrounds

4) Marcin Mencel vs. Mateusz Zawadzki
-MMA Night of Champions, October 27th, 2012
When neither fighter in a contest is able to find the advantage striking, it isn’t an odd thought to think that one of them might try to look for a takedown. But you certainly wouldn’t expect for them to both shoot at the exact same time, resulting in a violent collision of heads.

3) Anthony Lapsley vs. Aaron Wetherspoon
-KOTC: Opposing Force, May 15th, 2008
Once again we have another accidental collision of heads, but with this one happening in the midst of a wild striking exchange. Even veteran referee Herb Dean seems completely puzzled and unsure on what to do when both fighters crash back onto the mat with neither seeming to have the advantage.

2) Owen Martin vs. Jay Jackson
-Rumble at the Border 2, March 15th, 2013
With both fighters seeming completely exhausted, they both give a last-ditch effort in an attempt to finish the fight in their favor. They both connect with one another, sending Martin to the mat only to have Jackson collapse on top of him moments after. Jackson was given the win as he was able to survive longer than his opponent.

1) Tyler Bryan vs. Shawn Parker
-LOF 25, May 16th, 2008
If you’ve ever seen a double knockout, this is the one you’ve most likely seen. Eight-seconds into the fight both men exchange a punch, but that is all it takes as they both fall back stiff to the mat behind them.
Although this is unlikely the way they wanted to make their professional MMA debuts, they’ve certainly claimed themselves a small spot in MMA history. Legend of the sport Shonie Carter happened to be refereeing the fight and his reaction almost upstages the knockouts.
