Many people won’t see it my way, and that’s fine, but please first allow me to explain, before you make your final conclusion. You see, in my eyes, the sucker punch is an art form. Sometimes, it’s clean and precise, other times; it’s messy and misconstrued. And also much like art, regardless of the exactitude of the sucker punch, it can be a thing of beauty when it hits the mark, or an epic failure if it misses it. There have been many a sucker punch artist over the course of history, but only one can stand firm above all the rest, as the Greatest Sucker Punch of All-Time.
Before we jump to the winner, we must first examine a few of the losers.. Like, remember when that ref smashed that corner guy with the picture perfect left hook at some regional show? Beautiful sucker punch. Or what about when Mayhem had those less than politically correct things to say to Uriah Hall that one time? Sloppy sucker punch. And how could anyone forget about Yoshihiro Nakao giving Heath Herring a little smooch before their bout, to which Herring responded with a thunderous don’t kiss me on the mouth, bro. Homophobic sucker punch?
Even beyond these, there is still one sucker punch, which has to be considered the greatest sucker punch of all-time. As you can see in the video, 2 young males are ending what seemed to be some type of verbal altercation in the alley. The first young man claims that he needs to go to the crib and then proceed to hop onto his Huffy. The second male, letting his guard down with the threat gone, remains chillin in the alley. A few moments later, the first male returns from around the corner, approaching the second male at a high rate of speed on his bicycle. The first male suddenly jumps off his bike, ghost-riding that whip while he ran screaming profanities at the second male and then punches him right in the face, before hoping back onto his ghost-riding bike and riding off into the sunset. It wasn’t clean, and he didn’t even hit the kid that hard, but like a Picasso, all the right elements for a masterpiece were there. Kudos kid, that was the greatest sucker punch of all-time.
