This is by far one of the most cringe worthy, idiotic and unsafe things we’ve ever seen take place under the guise of martial arts! Do NOT try this at home!

At first glance, it may seem as if they’re simply trying to condition their bodies to the types of strikes that they will feel and come across in competition, but letting someone tee off on your head or stomp on your chest will undoubtedly do you far more harm than it does good.

As science progresses, we are learning more and more about concussions and what they do to the brain. If you haven’t stayed up to date on the subject, I hate to be the one to break it to you but, concussions are bad. Your brain can only take so much damage before that damage begins being permanent.

If you’re going to be a fighter, and honestly, even if you aren’t, you want to save yourself from as much unnecessary damage as you possibly can, so that if there ever comes a time that you have a tough fight your brain will be able to safely absorb the damage.

All that we ask, martial artist to martial artist, is that you NEVER put yourself at risk by trying something this stupid. There are much better ways to improve your defenses than just allowing a training partner to unload strikes upon you.

And just in case you aren’t quite familiar with Muay Thai and what it is usually like..

About Muay Thai

Muay Thai is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as “the art of eight limbs” because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient. Muay Thai became widespread internationally in the twentieth century, when practitioners defeated notable practitioners of other martial arts. [Source: Wikipedia]
