Today the UFC made a historical announcement for a historic event, Conor McGregor will fight Ronda Rousey for the first ever undisputed bantamweight championship of the world.

April 1st, 2016, Las Vegas, Nevada. The Ultimate Fighting Championship, in partnership the National Organization for Women (NOW) is proud to announce that for the first time ever a womqn fighter will meet a man inside the Octagon when former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey fights the iconic Conor McGregor for the newly created gender-neutral bantamweight title.

Ronda Rousey is arguably the most skilled and strongest women to ever fight in the Octagon and McGregor is arguably the biggest star in the UFC despite a recent loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 196.

UFC President Dana White said “Ronda is the kind of woman who transcends what it means to be a real mixed martial artist. She has never turned down a fight and this was no exception.”

McGregor who once said if you put Jesus in the Octagon, he would fight him, didn’t hesitate on taking the fight. In typical McGregor fashion, he said he would ‘beat that b*tch so bad, she’ll never want to fight a man again.” Rousey, for her part, is more than game. She has said before she could beat heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and boxing great Floyd Mayweather, so for her McGregor is an easy challenge: “Conor McGregor is a great fighter, but I’m the greatest fighter. No man or women can compete with my olympic level boxing and judo. I can’t wait to toss McGregor on his head and break his arm.”
