In this video, two karate students are practicing kick techniques and working on body hardening, when the Master of the class decides one of them needs a lesson.

The two seem to be drilling back and forth and you can tell the student in the white gi (uniform) gently practices a right right house kick to the other student’s leg. He throws two very soft kicks.

The student in the black uniform responds by blasting him with a huge right right house kick that drops him to the ground. The strike was clearly not an appropriate response in the situation. The student in the white uniform however returns to his feet and continues the drilling.

While showing the signs of a sore leg, he lands a soft inside leg kick to the student in the black uniform. This time that man returns an inside leg harder, but not as impactful as before. Back to outside leg kicks and the student apparently without any control blasts another outside round house kick which hurts his training partner.

Again the new student, seemingly believing this is how the drilling should go, starts again with an inside leg kick. Two exchange a few more kicks with the experienced student landing a little harder and a little meaner.

It is at this point that the instructor or Master enters the scene. He addresses the experienced student in the black uniform who bows to show respect. The Master, in red pants, tattooed an obviously an imposing force instructs the student to stand and prepare to drill. The student timidly kicks the Master who immediately blasts a full force round house kick dropping this student to the mat. This was clearly the case of the Master teaching the over zealous student a lesson in drilling properly with a partner.
