A video is going viral of an Italian sunbather round kicking a migrant beach seller in the face, twice, after refusing to pay for food. The first kick by the thug was an upkick, which is more characteristic of mixed martial arts but also some Okinawan striking styles, and the second was from standing.

The video was filmed in Calabria, in south-western Italy, the ‘toe’ of the country’s boot-shaped peninsula.

According to multiple accounts, the Italian man was laying on the beach, when a migrant food seller offered him something the eat. The man took the food, are it, and then refused to pay the modest five Euro bill.

Angry, the vendor argues with the man, who orders him to leave. The vendor, obviously of modest means, gesticulates emphatically as he continues to argue for the five bucks that is due to him.

“Figlio di puttana (son of a b*tch),” yells the vendor.

Suddenly the muscular man launches a right up round kick, catching the vendor in the face. The food seller staggers back, as the bully leaps up and immediately lands a standing round kick to the face.

The beach vendor then backs away, arms out stretched, trying to protect himself from further harm.

“Enough,” he says to the bully. “That’s enough.”

The vendor walked away empty handed.

The social network was not impressed with the bully.

“He is speaking better Italian than the hooligan,” said an Italian viewer, referring to the accent of the immigrant beach vendor.

“When you go to get your hair cut at the barber, you don’t just walk away without paying!” wrote another. “It is the same thing you stupid man!”

“He is lying in the sun and demonstrating their smallness for five Euros,” wrote a third.

“People like this ruin Italy!” wrote yet another commenter, speaking not of the immigrant, but of his fellow Italian.

The truth is of course that Italy does not have a monopoly on bullies. They are everywhere, and everywhere coarsen their surroundings. So stand up to bullying when you see it, and – we’re all human – don’t be a bully too.
