This video shows a pretty basic technique that can be used in a wrestling match (or a mma fight). It’s a standup from the bottom position, but the video breaks down all the key components of any counter your opponent may use.
First, you’ll stand up with your inside leg (the leg that’s on the same side as your opponent). Once your leg is up, you’ll want to start pressuring back towards your opponent’s chest. If you don’t lean into your opponent, he will more than likely use your weight to take you back down. You’ll also want to seal off the side your opponent is on, so he can’t get a hand under your arm.
As you stand up, you’ll need to keep pressure into your opponent, while breaking his grip with your other hand. As soon as you get his hand off, you’ll want to turn, bump him to create some space, and work for an under hook.
A simple stand up technique, but a great breakdown of all the components you’ll need to do it successfully.
