This video has the classic title boxer vs wrestler. While it doesn’t display too much boxing, one man does showcase two spectacular wrestling throws. These men are from Dagestan (southern Russia). We all know that part of the world can put out some skilled and tough wrestlers. The video quality isn’t especially good but the quality of the throws does a lot to compensate.
The fight begins with the two combatants squaring off in a muddy street, ringed by spectators. The fight doesn’t look emotional. Maybe it was an informal MMA match. One man is in a blue shirt, the other in a white one.
Blue shirt throws a lazy leg kick and immediately charges in for the takedown, ducking a right hand. He locks his hands under his opponent’s hips sinks his own hips under, and we know two things:
- The man in the blue shirt knows some sh*t
- The man in the white shirt is going for a ride
Blue shirt flips and slams him, but does a good job of scrambling. It’s evident that neither has much skill controlling on the ground in a fight. The blue shirted man uses a gut wrench to drag his opponent back to the ground in a neutral position.
Then the video then cuts- it cuts back in with blue shirt still on top. White shirt succeeds in standing up but eats a head kick. Blue shirt immediately shoots in on a double, lifts his opponent, and delivers a fight-ending slam. White shirt covers up and blue shirt steps away.

A great wrestling showcase in a fight between two very game competitors. People will say that the white shirt guy wasn’t a real boxer, which may be true, but still boxing doesn’t prepare you for throws like that! Watch out next time you’re in Dagestan!
