The sport of Mixed Martial Arts has been around a lot longer than most people believe, however; it was introduced to the world on a cold evening in Denver, Colorado on November 12, 1993, and called the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The premise was beautiful in its simplicity: to simply answer the question of which martial art is most effective.
Fast forward over 20 years and we now have a sport that jockeys for top position in popularity in many countries.
Although the sport has evolved, the original question that was set out to be answered is still one that intrigues people to this day, however; what if we put a modern spin on that question…
What would happen if an untrained person ran across someone who had some martial arts experience and training? How effective is martial arts training in a real world scenario? In a street fight or self-defense situation is what one learns in the dojo really going to be effective and useful?

The sad fact of the matter is that the vast majority of the population has zero martial arts training but unfortunately we live in a seen it on tv world. Millions of people all over the world are fans of mixed martial arts but the reality is that very few of them train, however; they tend to believe that they can replicate what they have seen on tv so they actually have legitimate confidence in themselves when a physical altercation is looming.
So what would happen if what of these types of untrained people runs into someone with legitimate martial arts training? That is exactly what happens in the video below so check it out to see just how this situation plays out…
