Over the past few years we have seen several big name MMA fighters go Hollywood so to speak and try their hand at acting. Usually those fighters are put in more action type roles with limited lines but it is still cool to see our favorite fighters on the big screen.
One concern this raises among fighters still competing is that it could take time and focus away from their training which could have disastrous results.
Though the following fighters probably won’t be winning an Oscar anytime soon, some of them had roles in pretty big films and didn’t do all that bad.
7) Ronda Rousey
Ronda Rousey is one such case where perhaps her Hollywood roles had a negative effect on her fighting career.

Nevertheless she’s had a few roles in big blockbuster films such as The Expendables 3 as well as in Entourage and Fast and the Furious 7.
6) Michael Bisping
Michael Bisping completely disregards the idea of acting getting in the way of fighting but he may be just an outlier. He was on set of XXX: Xander Cage when he received a last minute fight offer to fight for the belt and the rest is history.

Though, Bisping is just getting is start on the silver screen, perhaps there is more to come from the brash brit.
5) Oleg Taktarov
This old school MMA veteran may not be as well-known as others on this list but he may in fact have the most impressive resume, just check out his IMDB page.

Though he usually has small, enforcer type roles he did have a pretty big role in 2010 action/sci-fi flick Predators.

4) Georges St-Pierre
Georges St-Pierre took advantage of his time off from fighting and had a fairly big role in Marvel’s Captain America: Winter Soldier where he played Batroc the Leaper.

He also appeared alongside martial arts film legends Jean Claude Van-Damme in Kickboxer: Vengeance and with Steven Seagal in Killing Salazar.
3) Randy Couture
Randy has been involved in the acting game for quite some time now since his retirement from MMA competition in 2011.

The most notable film roles Randy has been involved with is in the Expendables trilogy as Toll Road starring alongside other action greats such as Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Statham.

2) Rampage Jackson
Rampage Jackson has had quite a few smaller roles in many films and TV shows but is perhaps best known for his portrayal of B.A. Baracus in the 2010 remake of the A-Teams.

Though the film received mixed reviews from critics, it was still a box office success and Rampage held his own alongside A-listers such as Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper.

1) Gina Carano
Gina Carano is perhaps the best MMA fighter turned thespian who seems to be a natural in this realm. She got her start in action flicks like Haywire and Fast and the Furious 6 but it is in Marvel’s Deadpool where she really got a chance to shine. Deadpool was a huge hit and proved Carano could more than hold her own in a big flick.

The sky is the limit it seems for Carano in acting and you can expect more to come from her in the near future.
