If one were to read the title of this article it would seem, at first glance, to be a bit preposterous…I mean, after all, who would want to learn how to get punched in the face? That is a ridiculous thought to even ponder; it simply seems to defy all logic and educated reasoning. However; if you were to watch the video below then you would begin to think, or at least possibly consider, that John Graden just might be on to something with the instructional/self-defense demonstration.

As Graden so eloquently states, taking a punch is ridiculous! Actually taking a punch, or blocking a punch is counterproductive as most people would rather be punching so in essence, learning to take a punch is basically a waste of time!

There are, however; times when taking a punch is simply unavoidable so what one would want to do, should they find themselves in such a position, is to learn how to absorb that punch with minimum amount of damage inflicted upon themselves…seems logical right?

Well this is not always the case as many people do not understand the finer intricacies of absorbing force and power and being able to effectively be punched in the face while allowing themselves the best opportunity to retaliate in an effective manner.

Below we watch as Graden expertly walks us through the thought processes that perpetuate the idea that sometimes the best offense is a great defense and learning how to absorb a blow could ultimately benefit you in a self-defense situation.

So check out the video below as we learn how to get punched in the face!
