If you train in the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu you are very much aware of the importance of the element of ground fighting but also the ability to be able to get the fight to the ground.
In the following tutorial video, Grapplearts.com founder and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Stephan Kesting is joined by UFC and Pride veteran Denis Kang as they each go through their favorite super simple takedowns for people who don’t have that much time to work on that aspect of their game and are easy to recall in the heat of the moment.

The first take down demonstrated by Denis comes from the collar tie-up. The first step is to have one hand on your opponent’s neck while the other hand comes below to tap the back of your opponents lead knee to complete the takedown.
“The hand [on the neck] is pressuring down and I’m going to drive the weight onto the [lead] leg, that way when I [tap the knee] it takes everything away.”
