When one man sucker punched another during a verbal confrontation on the Chinese subway, he wasn’t prepared for the fists of fury he was going to receive in return.

The fight reportedly took place in Guangzhou, China’s busiest transport hub and the third largest city in the world.

As the action begins the victim is filmed by another passenger engaging in a heated argument with a man sitting next to him, while his girlfriend sits beside him on the other side.

Tempers flare and suddenly the man he’s arguing with in the blue and white striped polo shirt sucker punches him with a right hook square to the face, which lands with an audible smack.

As other people sitting nearby move away from the trouble, the victim calmly puts down his belongings next to his girlfriend, and then bursts into action.

As he stands up he strikes his attacker in the face with the back of his hand. He then unleashes a rally of over a dozen left and right hooks to his head, twisting his body into each blow, before pausing momentarily.

The now dazed instigator tries to stand, only to be greeted with a straight right, a couple of knees to the midsection and a few more punches to the noggin for good measure.

Given the amount of bare knuckle blows he’s landed in quick succession, it’s no big surprise that the victim has injured his left hand in the process, and he takes a quick look at it as his adversary sits back down clutching his head.

However, the sucker puncher isn’t finished yet and he suddenly stands back up and wings a right hand at his head.

It just misses and he’s then met with another half dozen knuckle sandwiches to the head in return, before the victim stops to shake out his injured hand again.

The two wrestle for a moment and then the instigator again tries to attack and is beaten back with punches and kicks.

The victim’s girlfriend attempts to calm the situation down as the train pulls into the station.

Nursing his hand again, the victim steps out onto the platform, and is soon followed by his attacker, who’s blood can be seen splattered on the carriage floor and on his trousers.

However, the victim is then able to jump back onto the train to be reunited with his girlfriend just as the doors are closing, bringing an end to the altercation.
