There’s very little, if anything, that Jackass star Steve-O won’t do, and that includes getting beaten up multiple times in this video – though it’s not quite what it seems.
The set-up here is that he’s playing a prank for the wildly popular VitalyzdTv YouTube channel, pretending to be beaten up on the streets of Los Angeles to see how people walking past will react – all in the name of science…sort of!
So, how did people react to seeing everyone’s favorite insane yet loveable stuntman getting attacked by an apparently irate ‘fan’?
Well, on the first occasion, after Steve-O is taken down, a nearby street vendors leaps to his rescue without a moment’s hesitation, connecting with a punch to the face of the ‘fan’ and then restraining him in a clinch against a nearby lamppost.
A selfless act, though when the have-a-go-hero is informed that it’s just a prank he sheepishly apologizes to the guy he’d just hit, mumbling, Sorry, fool.
The second time around the ‘fan’ treats Steve-O even more roughly, thumping him up against at shop window before taking him down.
This time most passers-by just stand and stare at the spectacle unfolding before them, but one man does come over to help, and he takes a completely different approach to defusing the situation as he calmly tries to talk the man out of strangling poor Steve-O.
It’s a different story the third time the scenario plays out though. This time two guys immediately rush in and drag the ‘fan’ off of the star.
Then another guy arrives on the scene, and he’s all fired up and ready to go one step further, taking off his sunglasses as he demands the ‘fan’ fight him 1 on 1.

It turns out that members of the public aren’t the only people that will jump in to help Steve-O though, as the final time they play the prank on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame it’s the local police who rush in to stop him from getting beaten up.
Things don’t quite go according to plan though as pleas that it’s just a prank fall on deaf ears and the ‘fan’ ends up getting put in cuffs and led away to a waiting police car! Oops!
