Like a lot of things in life, most things for that matter, bullying cannot be encompassed in a single genre. Unfortunately, in the current day and age with each generation seemingly more bold, outrageous, and extreme then the next, the limits to their actions seems to have no end. When one thinks of a bully there used to be very specific and identifying stereotypes that helped us as a society identify them.

You normally thought of a male who is one of the ‘cool’ kids, is very popular, always has a group which follows him and tends to his every command, and there is always a good looking girl not far from his grasp…think Johnny Lawrence from The Karate Kid. There is an air of that good ole fashioned ‘bad boy’ about him that is undeniable and perpetually present. Unfortunately these days the ‘bully’ is not always so easy to pick out; see Exhibit A below.

The video below shows two seemingly innocent schoolgirls complete with their standard private or prep school uniform. They are innocent looking enough and it appears that it is a beautiful afternoon, which it may be, but all other assumptions are thrown out the window as soon as you hit the play button.

From the very beginning it is clear that one girl is the aggressor and has an issue with the other girl. From the outset the bully is intent on picking a fight which the other girl wants no part of however; there is only so much that she can take. Once the bully pushes too far, the other girl decides that she has had enough and will no longer put up with the abuse.
