In this video, Rener Gracie son of the legendary Gracie family narrates his roll with UFC fighter Chan Sung Jung or The Korean Zombie.
The two met at Rener’s seminar in Korea, and even though the Zombies does not have great English, as Rener says, they spoke the same language – Jiu Jitsu, and decided to get it on for the camera. Rener is in the gi, and Jung in the UFC Reebok gear.
They shake hands and then Jung goes for a friendly surprise pass, strait into a knee on belly back take. Rener folds his body forward, preventing Jung from establishing a grip or inserting his hooks. Eventually Jung succeeds in full back control, but then Rener escapes his hands and sits up, grabbing onto Jung’s feet.
As Rener says, this prevents Jung from doing anything, and he relinquishes the back. You can tell the size difference is working in Rener’s favor, but his skill is extremely impressive.
Jung then starts trying to pass Rener’s guard, and Rener sneaks him into a slick triangle choke. Rener allows him to pass it, then reestablishes his guard.

At one point, he stands up looking for a quick guillotine choke, then sits back down. After that he becomes more aggressive with submission attempts from the bottom, shooting triangles and armbars, Jung trying to pass. Both make the roll very exciting.
Eventually he gets on top of Jung and passes to mount, pins his arm and locks up another triangle choke.

Really cool to think that Jung humbly showed up at Rener’s seminar. Thanks to both guys for displaying their skill for us, and a big thanks to Rener for the insightful narration. Hopefully more top level guys will release more content helping us understand their Jiu Jitsu!
