Wrestling is one of the primary aspects of MMA, and being well-versed in it can definitely be a game-changer. In fact, if you possess better wrestling skills than your opponent it’s likely that you’ll get to choose where the fights takes place, thus gaining an enormous advantage.
Many, many champions in MMA history started their martial arts journey as wrestlers. Besides the obvious usefulness of wrestling as an MMA tool it’s important to note that that martial art is pretty tough, and very grueling. Most wrestlers are used to drill and fight while being dehydrated, and rarely shy away from effort.
Wrestlers are physical powerhouses, and very strong mentally. Unfortunately for the man wearing a white t-shirt in the following footage, he crossed path with one of them, and it got ugly real quick.
It’s unclear as to why the two men started fighting in the first place, as the footage immediately begins with both men going at it.
The wrestler walks towards the man, picks him up, and slams him HARD on his head. That could have very well been a fight-ending move, but the man hangs tight and manages to stay in the fight. He’s a pretty bad position though, as the wrestler immediately mounts him and starts pounding on his face.
The poor fellow tries to escape the mount but the wrestler prevents him from doing so and lands in side control, landing punches. A scramble ensues and the man with the white t-shirt ends up in a front headlock. It appears the wrestler is now trying to slam him again but fails to do so…

… But not for long. The wrestler smoothly goes for his back and suplexes the s**t out of him before unleashing a barrage of punches. The man is stunned but the wrestler goes for the exact same sequence AGAIN! The man has no choice but to tap out. He’s had enough.
Watch the above footage and decide for yourself if this was a very brutal but fair fight, or rather an outright assault.
