Cornering a victim is perhaps one of the most commonly used strategies used by assailants who wish to commit robbery, harm or even murder due to the obvious disadvantages for the victim in question. So if you found yourself with your back up against a wall with literally nowhere to run, how would you react when it came to defending yourself and escaping this threatening situation relatively unscathed?

In the following technique video Krav Maga Training (KMT) instructor Luca Goffi breaks down one of the worst case scenarios one could be in and then what possible options you’ll have available to turn the tables back in your favor.

Drawing upon the KMT Xtreme Defense Advanced Method curriculum, Luca Goffi will teach you methods for dealing with a size and strength disadvantage, a variety of close range striking techniques, getting your opponent off balance as well as how to then control your attacker in the clinch and ready to receive a finishing blow or giving you the vital time to escape the situation.

Krav Maga is a self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) that consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from aikido, judo, boxing and wrestling, along with realistic fight training. Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extremely efficient and brutal counter-attacks. It was derived from street-fighting skills developed by Hungarian-Israeli martial artist Imi Lichtenfeld, who made use of his training as a boxer and wrestler as a means of defending the Jewish quarter against fascist groups in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia in the mid-to-late 1930’s. In the late 1940s, following his migration to Israel, he began to provide lessons on combat training to what was to become the IDF. [source : wiki]
