Bringing any kind of a weapon to a fistfight is a dirtbag move, and in this video clip the perpetrator was dealt with accordingly.

As the video begins with the two rivals are preparing to square off against each other in the middle of the road in a snow-covered residential neighborhood.

The smaller teen in the blue hoodie is concealing a mini-bat in his right hand, but the other kid in the black jumper spots it before the altercation begins.

Get that sh*t out of your hands, dude, he’s told, but even when the request is repeated it falls on deaf ears.

His reluctance to comply with the most basic rule of a fistfight angers the other youth, who throws caution to the wind by deciding to attack first.

The element of surprise works to his advantage as he’s swiftly able to close the distance and execute a takedown before his rival even has a chance to swing the bat.

He then foils Hoodie’s attempts to scramble back to his feet and begins to unload half-a-dozen ground and pound strikes to the head before turning his attention to the bat, which is still clutched tightly in his opponent’s right hand.

Finally wrenching it free from his grasp, he lands one solid blow to the perpetrator’s head with the bat, which causes it to snap in two.

Thankfully the fight ends at that stage as an older man in the background can be heard threatening to call the police.

Bringing a weapon like this to a street fight is a terrible idea for numerous reasons.

If nothing else, bear in mind that using a bat could lead to you facing serious ‘assault with a deadly weapon’ charges, and, as was demonstrated here, there’s always the possibility that the implement may end being used against you.

A much better strategy to deal with a situation like this would be to avoid getting into a physical confrontation in the first place, and if you feel you need something to help give you more confidence in a self-defense situation then learning a martial art is a more sensible way to go.
