Joe Rogan is one of the most well-liked and interested characters connected to the wild and wonderful sport of mixed martial arts.
Since 2002, Rogan has provided color commentary for the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Pay Per View, Spike TV, and now on FOX. Rogan’s passion for MMA began with martial arts practice at the age of 13. Within two years, the Boston native earned a black belt and soon became the Massachusetts full contact Taekwondodo champion four consecutive years.
By the age of 19, Rogan won the US Open Taekwondo Championship and as lightweight champion went on to beat both the middle and heavyweight title-holders to obtain the Grand Championship. Since then, Rogan has received his black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu from Jean-Jacques Machado and his black belt in Tenth Planet jiu-jitsu from Eddie Bravo.

While his martial arts experience and knowledge make him a highly respected, entertaining and informative commentary, it’s his humor and honesty that draw many fans to Joe Rogan’s personality.
He’s unafraid to share that which most would bottle up and hide away.
Like his absolutely disgusting post-surgery sinus cavity or his fearless consumption of his own bodily waste.
After a lifetime spent practicing the martial arts and being struck in the face, Rogan’s nose had been battered to such a degree that is required surgery just so he could breathe through it. After surgery, Joe was tasked with the uncomfortable and disgusting task of using a waterpik with a nasal attachment to shoot a hydrogen peroxide solution into his sinuses to clean them out.
Then, Rogan visits a radio show and chugs back his own urine after informing the hosts of his inspiration.
I’ve read so many different people online say that it’s like a form of medicine and that it’s very healthy.
Moments later, Joe drops trou, pees in a cup and chug-a-lugs it like a cold iced tea on a hot summer day.
Jeff Warsaw is the former executive editor of Long Island MMA Magazine, professional combat sports public address announcer for several NY/NJ MMA and kickboxing promotions, and a proud one-stripe white belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under the famed Joe D’Arce.
