There aren’t many people that leave the house during the day or at night that intend to get into a street fight. There are some that do but those people are few and far between as the average Joe has no intentions of getting into a physical altercation…EVER.

However; when a street fight does occur it pays to have a little bit of training, either self-defense or in a specific martial art…what better martial art than Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which, although an off-shoot of the original is sport Jiu-Jitsu, was originally created for self-defense.

Neither www.mixedmartialarts.com nor myself promote street fighting or physical acts of violence in any form or fashion but there are those occasions that arise which simply require that you defend yourself .

These are situations that your safety is at risk and unless you have adequate skills to defend yourself and end the confrontation quickly you could find yourself in a precarious situation.

In the video below we see just such a case where a little bit of martial arts training goes a long way. In fact, although the skill level of the practitioner in the video is probably a bit more than minimal at best it simply goes on to prove the original premise: that martial arts training can and will give a person the upper hand in a physical confrontation.

The gentleman below puts his minimal Jiu-Jitsu skills on display and although the techniques used aren’t perfect, they do in fact end the fight. So check out the video below to see how even a minimal amount of training can go a long way in getting you out of a situation in which you may not be completely comfortable with.
