In South London, two, not so Kung-Fu fighting bike thieves armed with a screwdriver and a pair of nunchuks, were thwarted trying to steal a motorbike.

The two thieves were seen by CCTV cameras riding a stolen motorbike, seen on the left side of the screen, up and down the road casing the property. One of the thieves then hopped off the stolen motorbike attempting to steal the three-wheeled motorbike on the right side of the screen.

What isn’t shown in the video is that the would-be victim is the one who brought the nunchuks into play. When the London resident saw two people trying to steal his bike, he stormed out of his home with the pair of nunchuks. Somewhere in the confrontation the nunchuks ended up into the hands of one of the thieves.

While one of the robbers attempts to hold back the 46-year-old man with the pair of nunchuks — the other, armed with the screwdriver, attempts to get back on their stolen bike and presumably make their escape. The attacker fiercely swings the weapon but the man is able to absorb a few hard strikes to his hands and pins the assailant against a nearby parked car, wrestling the nunchuks away.

At this point the attacker trying to get back onto the bike realizes that his partner is in too deep and at the same time a neighbor comes to the aid of the man. The suspects then both abandon their stolen motorbike and make a break for it.

For his brave effort and with the help of his neighbor not only did the man save his motorbike – he also got to keep his pair of nunchuks. But for next time… if you’re going to intervene on a robbery in progress with a pair of nunchuks, make sure you can keep them in your own hands.

Anybody with information on either of the suspects is advised to contact London authorities.
