Jeet Kune Do is a martial art invented by the legend Bruce Lee around 1967. It is more of a way of fighting than an actual style of fighting, as in, Lee’s goal was to incorporate in Jeet Kune Do anything that could be useful in a fight. That meant incorporating striking techniques and grappling moves as well.

Bruce Lee was notoriously known for being pretty open-minded when it came to martial arts. He had no sectarian point of view about it, and believed useful, simple techniques should be added to one’s arsenal while useless techniques should be abandoned. Seems pretty logical, right?

Well, not for everyone apparently. Some people refuse to embrace Lee’s fighting philosophy for what it really is (i.e. , I’m stressing it again, a very open-minded approach to REALISTIC combat) and actually believe that a single martial art can save them from pretty much every situation ever.

Take the two gentlemen in the following footage for instance. Instead of taking Jeet Kune Do as a philosophy of fighting it’s obvious they’re taking it as a very, very literal form of combat which results in, well, hilarity.

They spend the first two minutes of the video drilling parries in what looks like two middle school girls having an argument over who’s the better singer between Justin Bieber and One Direction. Sure parrying is crucial in a fight, but well I’ve yet to see a high-level fighter parrying the way they do it.

Moving on to the good stuff. Because yeah, now they’re kicking. And let me tell you this, they’re NOT messing around. I mean, the guy manages to send a pad flying on the wall before ripping it open with a single kick. Now that’s some Mirko Cro Cop-esque power right there!

There’s more though. I don’t even want to spoil these guys’ ultimate move to you (hint: it involves disarming someone in a mind-blowing way) so I’m going to let you guys enjoy discovering it by yourselves.
