When a wannabe tough guy started causing trouble at a street parade, one New York police officer decided to take matters into his own hands and used a judo technique to shut him down in ruthlessly effective fashion.
The incident happened at the 2015 St. Patrick’s Day parade in Buffalo, which was attended by over 80,000 people attended, and with large quantities of acohol traditionally being consumed during the festivities it was almost inevitable that a few troublemakers would trying to spoil everyone else’s good-natured fun.
Such was the case with the hooligan in this video who was wearing a green hoodie with the all-too-accurate slogan, ‘Saint I Ain’t’ emblazoned on it, and for some reason had taken it upon himself to try and fight with anybody in his near vicinity.
The instigator is videoed alongside one of his cohorts in a fighting stance on the road, aggressively attempting to square up to a bewildered group of revelers who are standing on the sidewalk with a barrier being their only protection from the thug.

The lout shoves the only nearby security guard, moves away for a moment, then returns, putting his fists up again as he attempts to goad the onlookers into fighting him, while his companion joins in by attacking the barrier that stands in their way.
Things are threatening to spiral completely out of control, but thankfully at this moment a cop shows up on the scene and immediately gets to work.
The hero of the hour forcefully shoves one of the thugs away, then grabs the main troublemaker by the neck and executes a powerful judo technique known as ‘Osoto Otoshi’, sweeping his leg out from under him as he forcefully slams him to the asphalt, instantly taking the wind out of his sails.

The officer then pins the humiliated hooligan down with a knee on his neck until he gets help from another colleague to march him away for a night in a cell as the overjoyed crowd roars their approval at this picture-perfect example of justice being swiftly served.
