A fight breaking out in a school hallway is unfortunately all too common, but the twist in this video was that the two males involved were actually teachers who were being attacked by two out-of-control female students.
The chaotic scenes erupted at Arlington High in Indianapolis on Friday, 2nd September after the teachers attempted to break up a fight between the two youths.
As the video begins a 31 year-old teacher is attempting to apprehend a 15 year-old female wearing a red hooded jumper, but she shows a shocking lack of respect, warning him not to touch her as she pushes and slaps him.
That leaves the teacher in an unenviable position, feeling obliged to do something to restore order, yet also being mindful that he could lose his job if he is too heavy-handed.
The Indianapolis Public School code of conduct states that teachers are allowed to use limited physical force to prevent injury and in self-defense, and so the faculty member seems to be operating within the guidelines as he trips the troublemaker to the ground.
However, she grabs a hold of his sport coat as she falls and manages to haul him to the floor, using the momentum this generates to end up in full mount momentarily, though he quickly rolls back on top and subdues her for the time being.
The teacher then repeatedly warns other nearby students to back up and requests that security be called, but meanwhile another female student in a pink top starts to struggle with a different teacher nearby.
They briefly grapple and the teacher shows commendable restraint as he warns her that if she doesn’t stop he’s going to take her down, then scoops her up and gently places her on the ground.
The action then switches back to the other altercation, and somehow the aggressive female in the red hoodie is now back up and standing over the still grounded teacher, landing repeated blows to his head.
In self-defense he traps her momentarily between his legs, then gets to his knees and takes her back to the floor with a double leg takedown. He’s slow to fully retain top control however, which enables her to land several more punches from her back before she’s finally brought contained.
Mercifully, help arrives on scene at last and the student and teacher are separated, though she continues to yell at him, seemingly referring to a previous incident with the staff member and her brother, who she claims had beaten him up too just a few weeks earlier.
The student has since been suspended from the school, while the teacher is back at work and has indicated that he intends to press battery charges.
