Normally in bare knuckle fights involving Irish travelers or gypsies there are strict ‘fair play’ rules in place, usually very similar to boxing without the use of gloves. There is actually quite a lot of honor and respect usually involved in these types of fights as well as tradition and culture.

However, in this gypsy bare knuckle fight, it seems much more like an MMA fight than a boxing match though as ground fighting is allowed. Usually as soon as these type of fights go to the ground they are quickly broken up by organizers and if someone is dropped they are given a chance to recover.

In this fight though that doesn’t happen as one of the fighters goes down early and continues to be hit by his opponent and stomped as well. He does a good job covering up though and manages to get back to his feet.

Both fighters appear to have some sort of background in fighting, probably boxing as their foot work and movement looks to be pretty good. They both keep their hands up nice and high, particularly the guy in the shorts. Though the guy in the pants who got the first knockdown is much more wild in his attack, while his opponent is more disciplined.

The pace slows down near the end after the more disciplined guy in the shorts starts to out land his wild opponent, making him respect him as well as making him think twice before getting too aggressive.

Though the more technical guy had a rough start to the contest, he was able to recover and eventually out land his opponent using skill and technique.

This more ‘mma style’ bare knuckle gypsy fight ends when the wild guy has enough and walks away, awarding the victory to the more disciplined fighter who survived the brutal initial onslaught.
