The owner of an auto parts store in Florida showed exceptional bravery when he engaged in a life or death struggle with two armed robbers who had been holding him at gunpoint.
The shocking incident took place at the CAD Auto Parts store in Oakland Park, Florida shortly before 1pm on August 17th, 2015, and was captured on CCTV.
The store’s owner, 39 year-old Andrew Hepburn, was sitting in his office when 36 year-old Conrad Bloomfield and his accomplice stepped into the room with the intention of committing an armed robbery.

At first Hepburn was so busy looking at his cell phone that he didn’t notice that both men had semi-automatic handguns, and that one was pointed directly at him.
Bloomfield soon gets his attention though and after demanding money he forcefully grabs Hepburn out of his seat and tells him to get to the floor. The bewildered Hepburn attempts to sit down on the floor, but an annoyed Bloomfield tells him to lie on his front instead and attempts to pistol-whip him as he does so.
At this stage his accomplice is serving as a lookout at the door, and when a witness approaches the office to see what’s happening he goes after him.
That leaves Bloomfield alone with Hepburn, who’s now spread-eagled, face down on the floor, attempting to put his captive’s hands behind his back.
The accomplice returns with the other witness and shoves him into the office towards Bloomfield, then heads back out to deal with someone else off-camera.
Bloomfield is momentarily distracted by this, and so Hepburn decides now is the time to make his move.
As the witness flees from the office, Hepburn grabs his captor’s legs and bursts back up to his feet. He frantically grapples with Bloomfield, slapping at his gun and then shoves him off-balance to the floor, next to the doorway.
He’s then able to wrestle the firearm from Bloomfield’s hand and shoots him multiple times in the chest, just as the other robber returns, leading to a brief exchange of potentially deadly gunfire between them.
The altercation has now become like a scene from a movie as Hepburn staggers backwards after taking a shot to the right side of his body, with a bullet hole appearing on the wall right next to where he’d just been standing.
Showing remarkable courage, Hepburn heads back into the fray as two more bullet holes show up on the wall right next to him.
The other gunman flees and Hepburn shoots the still grounded Bloomfield multiple times. A struggle ensues and Hepburn hits him several times in the head with the butt of the gun, before dragging the bloodied thug outside to await the police.
Both men were then taken to hospital, with Bloomfield left in critical condition, while Hepburn was expected to make a full recovery.
“They attacked the wrong man that day because he really did fight back, Dani Moschella of the Broward Sheriff’s Office told CBSMiami. He gave it everything he had. He could have been killed. You can watch that video time and time again and you can see that he could have been killed.
Bloomfield was charged with attempted murder, while his accomplice, who sped off in a gray BMW driven by another man, remains at large.
