It’s the classic grappler vs striker matchup between these two novices and they get at it pretty quickly in this YouTube video from the channel ‘Gracie Jiu Jitsu White Belts In Action.’
You can tell who’s representing what style pretty early in this one. The kickboxer lands some solid low kicks while his opponent, the white belt, intelligently stays in defense mode on the feet.

The grappler tries to return fire with one of his own but it’s not nearly as effective. The kickboxer is using good movement at first but eventually gets dragged to the ground. The action is separated though as he grabbed his shirt which is not allowed in this one.
The action resumes on the feet and the kickboxer starts to unload with a plethora of strikes. The grappler hangs tough though and is able to survive.
Like most striker vs grappler matches, it ends up on the ground again where the white belt takes his opponent’s back almost instantly. He attempts to get the choke but can’t quite get it and decides to pound on him for a bit instead.
He goes back to the rear naked choke again but is struggling to finish it, showing his rudimentary skills. He keeps at it though and eventually gets it locked out and his opponent is forced to tap.
