Size can be a big advantage in a street fight, but if you get distracted and let your guard down like the guy in this video, then all bets are off.

It’s not clear where this altercation was filmed, though it appears to involve two Mexican youths, one of whom has a big size and weight advantage over his adversary.

As the fight begins the burly youth wearing the white t-shirt starts to close in on his bare-shirted rival with his hands up in a fighting stance.

No-shirt cautiously backs up, waiting for the right moment to strike, and it’s not long before that moment presents itself.

Distracted by some of the bystanders near-by, white-shirt momentarily glances towards them and lowers his guard, at which point no-shirt launches a full-blooded left hand to the face that drops the big man onto his butt.

He tries to stand up, but no-shirt swarms on him with a dozen left hooks to the head, forcing him to resort to just turtling up on his knees in a defensive shell.

No-shirt switches hands and starts hammering away at him again, but then a bystander jumps in and starts attacking him, which results in the fight fizzling out.

White-shirt gets back to his feet with his face bloodied and thinks better of trying to re-engage with his smaller foe, instead opting to just slowly back up and move away.

So, the big guy learned a painful, and no doubt somewhat humbling, lesson here that you can never let your guard down in a fight, even if it’s just for a split-second.

It also serves as a reminder that anything can happen in a street fight, and so you should never underestimate an opponent.

However, as always, the best way to deal with a situation like this is to not get involved in the fight in the first place – it’s just not worth it!
