Although a lot of self defense techniques are focused on opponents using nothing but their fists, it is also extremely important to know what to do in the event someone attacks you with a weapon.
Although guns and knives are a very common choice among assailants, improvised weaponry is also common choice for attackers and it often can come in the form of a baseball bat, due to its ease of accessibility and its devastating potential for blunt force trauma, broken bones, concussions and even death.

In the following technique video Krav Maga Training (KMT) instructor Luca Arietti breaks down what you can do to come out relatively unscathed against an attacker wielding a baseball bat.
Throughout the lesson you will learn about proper distancing against the attacker, some critical things not to do, how find success in the clinch and slow down the rate of attack as well as disarming techniques so you can diffuse the situation.

Krav Maga is a self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) that consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from aikido, judo, boxing and wrestling, along with realistic fight training. Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extremely efficient and brutal counter-attacks. It was derived from street-fighting skills developed by Hungarian-Israeli martial artist Imi Lichtenfeld, who made use of his training as a boxer and wrestler as a means of defending the Jewish quarter against fascist groups in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia in the mid-to-late 1930s. It has since been refined for civilian, police and military applications. [source : wiki]
