With Veteran’s Day recently passing it is important to keep in our thoughts and prayers our brave members of the Armed Forces who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom.
There have even been quite a few UFC fighters who have served in the military, some of which even simultaneously while they were still fighting professionally.
While the UFC fighters usually get all of the glory, our Armed Forces members deserve it even more so as they are literally risking life and limb for our freedom.
Here are 5 UFC fighters who have served in the military.
5) Tim Kennedy
Tim Kennedy is one such guy, as previously mentioned, who continued to serve in the military while still fighting professionally and at the highest levels too, no less.

Kennedy is a Special Forces sniper.
He is also a Ranger qualified Green Beret and also served in the Texas National Guard while still fighting in the UFC.
4) Neil Magny
Much like Tim Kennedy, Neil Magny served in the National Guard in Illinois where he served as a light-wheeled mechanic.

Magny credits mixed martial arts as what helped him get through tough times resulting from his deployment overseas.
3) Randy Couture
‘The Natural’ is not only a legend in the sport of MMA, but he is also a former military man too.

Randy served in the US Army from 1982 to 1988 where he was an air traffic controller and attained the rank of Sergeant.
2) Liz Carmouche
Liz Carmouche made history when she became half of the first-ever women’s title fight in UFC history against Ronda Rousey.

She is also the first openly gay/lesbian fighter to have ever competed in the UFC.
Prior to her UFC career, Liz served as a helicopter electrician in the Marines and also did three tours in Iraq.
1) Brian Stann
Stann, along with Kennedy, is probably the most decorated member of our armed forces to have ever fought in the UFC.

Stann served in the Marines where he was an Infantry Officer and eventually achieved the rank of Captain.
Stann was also awarded the Silver Star which is the nation’s third-highest award for valor in combat.
