In the sport’s short history, we have witnessed many amazing feats and records, so let’s take a look at five MMA records that aren’t likely to be broken anytime soon.

5) Youngest fighter to become UFC champion

When Rashad Evans pulled out of his main event title bout against Shogun Rua at UFC 128, 23-year-old up and coming phenom Jon Jones was given the chance of a lifetime on only four weeks’ notice and he did not disappoint.

Over the course of two a half rounds the Greg Jackson star punished Shogun Rua with kicks, elbows and devastating Greco throws before finishing him off with a barrage of knees and punches to claim the UFC light heavyweight title at the ripe old age of 23 years and 242 days, beating the previous record held by Josh Barnett.

4) Highest number of takedowns in a single fight

When want to see a fighter literally get rag dolled around the Octagon, this is the bout to watch. At UFC 160 in May of 2013 Sambo stylist Khabib Nurmagomedov faced off against Abel Trujillo.

Over the course of three rounds ‘The Eagle’ attempted 27 takedowns and completing 21 of them setting a new Fightmetric record which was previously held by Sean Sherk. Although Abel was game enough to get back to his feet Khabib had no problem getting him back to the mat, throwing him around like he was a child on route to a decision win.

3) Fastest victory in a women’s UFC title fight

Her original opposing coach on the Ultimate Fighter, Ronda Rousey finally faced off against Cat Zingano at UFC 184 who was coming off impressive finishes of Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes.

With Zingano starting off with a flying knee, Rousey immediately countered her and took Cat down following up with an armbar totaling fourteen seconds securing the fastest UFC title bout in women’s MMA history and also besting her previous record of sixteen seconds against Alexis Davis.

2) Most recorded professional MMA fights

Although it has been very impressive to see Donald Cerrone fight on almost any UFC card he can, there’s one fighter who trumps this frequency by a long shot.

Since his first recorded pro debut in 1997, Travis “Iron Man” Fulton has competed in a staggering total of 315 documented pro MMA bouts with an addition of 67 pro boxing bouts to his credit all before the age of 39 making a record for himself that is unlikely to be broken anytime soon.

1) Fastest KO in an MMA bout

In March 2014 Mike Garrett and Sam Heron made their amateur MMA debuts for the Warrior Challenge MMA show hoping to make an impression for the crowd.

Exactly 1.13 seconds later Mike Garrett had his hand raised after knocking out Sam Heron with a right high kick which literally lifted him off the canvas for a split second, and giving Mike the record for the fastest KO victory in mixed martial arts.
