One of the things that make mixed martial arts so exciting to watch is the fact that the fight can always end at any moment. Even when a particular fight hasn’t been very exciting, if you look away for even a split second, you might miss a devastating knockout or wild submission that finishes the fight.

Some fighters have a greater chance than others to land that one knockout shot. That is why we have a list compiled of the top five UFC fighters with the greatest chances of landing that shot. If you find yourself standing across the cage from one of these five, you better keep your hands up and your chin tucked.

Is there anyone you think should be on the list that isn’t? Check out the list and let us know what you think in the comments below!

5) Roy Big Country Nelson

Between his physical appearance and heavy handed fighting style, Big Country has carved his way into the hearts of fans all across America. He is as unique a fighter as they come and if you were to judge him based off of his looks, you wouldn’t be able to believe that he is a fighter in the UFC with 7 of his 8 wins within the octagon coming by way of knockout.

Notable knockouts: Rodrigo Nogueira, Stefan Struve, Cheick Kongo

4) Mark Super Samoan Hunt

Mark Hunt might not only be one of the best one punch KO artists in MMA, but he could also likely be considered one in kickboxing as well. Before joining the UFC, Mark Hunt had lost his last five fights, but when the UFC purchased PrideFC they took over all of their contracts. The UFC offered to pay Hunt to just retire, but the Super Samoan refused and was set on fighting out his contract. Since then he has rededicated himself to the sport and gone 7-4 inside the octagon with six of those wins coming by knockout.

Notable knockouts: Frank Mir, Roy Nelson, Stefan Struve

3) Johny Bigg Rigg Hendricks

Johny Hendricks made a name for himself in a stacked welterweight division by beating Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck, Martin Kampmann and Carlos Condit all in a row. In doing that he earned himself a title shot against Georges St. Pierre. The two fought to a decision and although the judges gave St. Pierre the decision, the majority of fans thought Hendricks handily beat the long-reigning champ. He has enough power in his left hand to send you sliding unconscious across the octagon floor and multiple of his opponents have learned this the hard way.

Notable knockouts: Martin Kampmann, Jon Fitch, Amir Sadollah

2) Robbie Lawler

Current defending welterweight champ Robbie Lawler is the type of fighter every fan wants to watch. He comes into the octagon with one purpose and sole intention and it is to absolutely destroy his opponent. When behind on the scorecards, he isn’t the type to try and catch up by outpointing his opponent, he runs across the cage throwing the hardest shots he physically can. Anytime Lawler steps into the octagon, especially so when defending his title, expect to watch one of the most aggressive and powerful strikers doing everything that he can to win.

Notable knockouts: Josh Koscheck, Melvin Manhoef, Rory MacDonald

1) Junior Dos Santos

All-time-heavyweight great and former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos is coming off the first knockout loss of his career but remains one of the most terrifying men alive. Dos Santos is the type of fighter that your average untrained man would have literally nearly zero chance to defeat. Even when stepping in against the best heavyweights in the world, 70% of the time Dos Santos comes out on top by the way of knockout.

Notable knockouts: Cain Velasquez, Fabricio Werdum, Mark Hunt
