The music industry is full of jacked, mean-mugging bros, but take away their entourage and security detail, and how many can really walk the walk? In the case of these 5 musicians, all they need is an excuse.

5) Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan

Keenan is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He actually started training as a result of numerous stalkers and harassment he’d experienced from fans.

In the below video, a fan (clearly in over his head) jumps on stage at a Tool show. Not missing a step, Maynard executes a sweet hip-toss and then proceeds to choke him out without stopping the song.

4) Poison drummer Rikki Rockett

Rikki Rockett is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Renato Magno.

“I was getting pushed around in the playground when I was a kid and so I told my Dad. He showed me a Osoto Gari that he learned in the Marine Corp. I used it and it worked! It wasn’t for many, many years later that I saw the UFC and Royce Gracie and that rekindled my interest in Jiu-Jitsu. Finally I met J.J. and Rigan Machado at a rally and they invited me to train at their school. I went a few days later and got tapped at least 12 times! There I met my coach now, (Renato Magno) and my now longtime friend Eddie Bravo. I signed up the next day!” [Source: jiujitsusweep.com]
