Nearly everything has been said about martial arts legend/actor/pioneer/badass Bruce Lee. It is easy to see why, as the man has become one of the last century’s most influential icons. A lot of Bruce Lee fanatics out there know A LOT about the man and regularly scrutinize every tiny bit of interesting, shocking, or mundane information they can find about him. Maybe that’s your case, too. You might think you know Bruce Lee’s life all too well, but I’m here to prove you wrong!
5) Bruce Lee was an awesome Cha Cha dancer
Bruce Lee won a Cha Cha dancing competition when he was in high school. If you think dancing and martial arts couldn’t be further from each other as disciplines, think again. In fact, any form of dancing can dramatically improve your footwork skills, something crucial for martial arts. I’d say Lee’s dancing acumen came in handy.

4) Bruce Lee loved him some cannabis
Bruce Lee was an avid cannabis user and chewed the stuff for more than 10 years. He was chewing Nepal Hashish, no less, which is an extremely potent variety. Why did he chew it instead of smoking it? No clue. Maybe it was a cultural thing. Some people pointed the finger at Lee’s cannabis use in order to explain his mysterious death, though all of that was just mere speculation at the end of the day.

3) Bruce was the inspiration behind a lot of video game characters
Maybe you haven’t noticed it, but chances are your favorite video game characters were inspired by Bruce Lee. That’s actually not that surprising for a cultural icon like him. Law from the Tekken franchise and Fei Long from Street Fighter II both have been inspired by Bruce Lee, for instance, and Lee was a playable character in the first EA Sports UFC video game!

2) Bruce Lee had bad eyesight
You’d think a sharp eye could come in handy in a discipline like martial arts where precision is crucial. Bruce Lee had bad eyesight, but that didn’t prevent him from becoming one of the most influential martial artists of all time.

1) Bruce Lee may have been on steroids
You’d think only people who have little to no respect for martial arts could bring themselves to use performance-enhancing drugs. Well, think again. Tom Bleecker, Linda Lee’s second husband, makes interesting claims in his book ‘Unsettled Matters’, to say the least.
Bleecker wrote: ‘”The issue of Lee’s steroid use is complex. “But the main thing that I wanted to get across was that steroids damaged Bruce physically and emotionally. Like so many other athletes who have used them, Bruce paid a heavy price. I know that there will be those who will scream and yell that never in a million years would Bruce use steroids.”
Bleecker went on to state that Lee’s alleged drug and steroid use could be the reason behind his mysterious death. This is still a mystery to this day though, but the reality is that it’s not impossible that Bruce Lee did use steroids.
