There is nothing ordinary or normal about street fighting as street fighting is not ordinary or normal however; as a society we have become extremely desensitized to violence. With the previous statement in mind it is safe to say that you should never underestimate anyone that you may come across in a physical altercation as looks can be deceiving, particularly when you take into account people who are skilled in the art of submission fighting. As the old saying goes, never judge a book by its cover, and in the three videos below we take a look at street fights that end with a submission.

3) The Effectiveness of Jiu-Jitsu and the rear naked choke

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was designed for the little guy, the guy who could not rely on size, strength, or speed, the guy that needed to literally outsmart his opponent by relying on technique, patience, and an understanding of movement as well as a basic understanding of how the body works. In the video below we see an altercation between, quite literally, a man and a boy; the difference between the two combatants? One of them is trained in the art of BJJ.

2) The art of the triangle choke

The triangle choke is a versatile and multi-faceted submission in that it provides the person on the offensive a position of that is not only controlling and dominate but provides options and does so all from the bottom position. While a person has a fully locked in triangle they are in complete control and as seen in the video below has the option to finish the choke and put their opponent to sleep or they can simply control their opponent while they continue to inflict damage from strikes.

1) The finality of a well-executed triangle choke

As previously discussed, the triangle is one of the most versatile submissions available when one finds themselves on their back with an attacker on top of them attempting to rain down punches. In the video below, we see an altercation between a fighter, Charles Krazy Horse Bennet, and a well-known coach, fighter, and BJJ black belt Cristiano Marcello. Choosing not to hold his position and inflict damage with strikes, Marcello proceeds to hold the choke and the devastating consequences can be seen below.
