There aren’t many people that leave the house during the day or at night that intend to get into a street fight. There are some that do but those people are few and far between as the average Joe has no intentions of getting into a physical altercation…EVER. Even rarer are the life threatening or life changing situations where a person may have to defend themselves because their life is quite literally at risk.

There are those instances when this happens and what happens when you are in a situation that absolutely requires you to fight for your life? Well, neither www.mixedmartialarts.com nor myself promote street fighting or physical acts of violence in any form or fashion but there are those occasions that arise which simply require that you defend yourself or you may, in fact, lose your life. These are situations that your safety and your life depends on your knowledge and ability to perform in a self-defense situation…enter Jake Mace.

Jake Mace is a Tai Chi and Kung Fu master who takes a special interest in self-defense, oddly enough he is also an avid gardener and offers many tips on building, maintaining, and perfecting your garden. The two are not as ill-related as one may think as a lot of times in the eastern orient the garden, complete with coy fish ponds as well as flowing water and waterfalls, offers a place of peace, tranquility, and serenity and is a prime place for meditation and training.

In the video below, Mace comprehensively and thoroughly describes three self-defense moves that will play an important role in ensuring your safety, de-escalating a physical confrontation, and allow you to walk away from the incident with relatively little injury or physical consequences.
