UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor beat former title holder Jose Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194. When McGregor fought lightweight Nick Diaz, at welterweight, Aldo says he was otherwise occupied with a Brazilian television channel called “Sexy Hot.”
According to its website, “The Sexy Hot is a channel of tv adult Brazilian, marketed as subscription or pay-per-view in operators of pay TV. Is the first channel with adult content (erotic and sex explicit) of the Brazilian television. The programming is directed to public hardcore and straight.”
Aldo appeared Sunday night on the Brazilian language television show Extra Ordinarios, and prior to the interview, told a Combate reporter that the night before, he was watching the porn channel instead of the title fight.
“I watch Sexy Hot at night, man,” said Aldo, as translated from a story on Globo by Guilherme Cruz for MMA Fighting. “I already knew that would happen, I was just waiting. When I knew (about the result), I didn’t think twice and posted something (on Instagram), I knew that would happen. I said a while ago that he wouldn’t have anything by the end of the year, even the belt.
“He quit, couldn’t take it anymore, wanted to run away. He’s a p***y. He went down and quit.
“He was slapped in the face. He looked like a child, getting slapped in the face.”
“Some fighters have a great punch, others don’t. His hands are actually made of soap. Of course that anyone goes down if you connect a blow in the chin. Even a child hitting in the chin, anyone goes down. He has hands of soup. He always hits and nobody ever feels it.”
Aldo also joked about his loss, making reference to an video of UFC light heavyweight Shogun Rua slipping on a skateboard vs, Ovince St. Preux.
“With me, they put a skateboard in there so I would slip,” he said, laughing.
Aldo is a remarkable multi-tasker, as within minutes of McGregor’s loss, Aldo, or someone running his social media, posted a detailed message on Instagram, calling out the Irishman.
McGregor’s next fight, if he can make weight, will be a title defense, against either Aldo or Frankie Edgar. Aldo repeated his wish for the fight to be his, and not Edgar’s.
“Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar, I heard you were asking for a title shot,” he wrote on Facebook. “I respect you as a fighter, but let’s check the facts: you lost twice to Ben Henderson before coming to the 145 division and getting a title shot against me without having fought once in the featherweight division. We had a great fight, but everybody knows the result. You can’t come here now and cut the line, you have to wait because you don’t have any right to ask for a title shot yet. Conor McGregor: instead of running up to a different weight division and talking shit about me, you could make your time valuable and go to a real gym to learn real jiu-jitsu. I’ll be ready for you at UFC 200, so we can leave no doubt.”
