Former UFC champion Jon Jones found himself in a little bit of trouble again this past week with another driving related incident with the police. Jone was pulled over for ‘drag racing’ and cited with five motor vehicle citations. The incident led to an arrest warrant being issues, Jones turning himself in, and spending some time locked up awaiting a bail hearing.

Jones was eventually released with no curfew or restrictions that would stop him from fighting and given a date to return to court. A day later, UFC President Dana White spoke to TMZ and had some blunt words about the incident:

“I don’t think Jon Jones is ever going to be the Jon Jones that people expect him to be,” said White said to TMZ Sports as transcribed by MMA Fighting. “Jon is gonna do Jon. I think that Jon tried so hard to play the good guy for so long, it drove him crazy. And Jon is just gonna be Jon now.”

“When I get pulled over by the police, I am the most polite human being you’ve ever met in your life. There’s no upside to talking back to the police. It’s the dumbest thing you can ever do, especially if you’re in Jon Jones’ position.”

“I haven’t talked to him, honestly. He’s been a little tied up since that happened.
