The youngest fighter on the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Rong Zhu, won his first fight in the Octagon by technical knockout at UFC Vegas 37.
Rong Zhu’s UFC debut in April was a disappointing start to his UFC career. As he lost by unanimous decision to Rodrigo Vargas. However, he righted those wrongs Saturday night with a decisive win over short-notice replacement Brandon Jenkins.

Over three rounds, the Chinese prospect was the better fighter in nearly every area the two lightweights competed at. Jenkins, who replaced Dakota Bush on short notice, showed his toughness as he battled through some difficult moments. Yet, he was not able to survive late in the third round, when a barrage of ground-and-pound from his 21-year-old foe became overwhelming.
The referee had seen too much over three rounds and stopped the fight with 4:35 left in the final round.

With the win, Zhu moves to 1-1 in the UFC and has won 11 of his last 10 fights overall.
The defeat ends a three-fight win streak for PFL and LFA veteran Jenkins.
