On the prelims portion of UFC 265, bantamweight Anderson dos Santos showed absurd toughness at times in his fight with Miles Johns. However, toughness can last but for so long when taking damage from a talent like “Chapo.”
Miles Johns deals out KO at UFC 265
Over the first two rounds of their bout, Johns battered the Brazilian’s leg and in several instances looked like he might get a stoppage from leg kicks. That was along with landing a plethora of punches dos Santos kept taking to his head. However, “Berinja” showed serious inner fortitude by gutting out the pain and fighting on. And not just fighting on, but pressuring his opponent for much of the fight.

Once the third round came, it just seemed like it was a matter of time before Johns would land that big shot to put his opponent away. As the faster fighter, he just kept missing that perfect one. Eventually, that came a little over a minute into the round when the LFA veteran unleashed a bomb of a haymaker that slammed into dos Santos’ face and had him down and out. The bout was officially stopped at 3:44 in the third round.
The win for the 27-year-old Johns is a second straight in the Octagon and his fourth career knockout.
The loss moves the 36-year-old dos Santos to 1-3 inside the Octagon.
