Dana White Contenders Series contract winner Melsik Baghdasaryan made the most of his first appearance as a member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship roster.

Melsik Baghdasaryan earns head kick KO in UFC debut

Throughout his matchup with fellow DWCS alum Collin Anglin, Baghdasaryan seemed the more talented and dangerous striker. Offering diverse attacks, speed, and a legit pop on his strikes. At one point in the opening round, the Glendale Fight Club product hurt his opponent, but Anglin was able to battle through and get out of the round.

In the second, it was more of the same. While Anglin put in a solid effort and did land a few solid shots of his own, there seemed to be an obvious skill gap between the two Octagon newbies.

With a little over three minutes left in the round, the 29-year-old threw a head kick that landed clean on its target. The strike floored Anglin and one quick hammer fist from above was all that was needed for the referee to stop the fight with 3:12 left in the second round.

The debut victory was a sixth straight for the Armenian talent and moves his record to 6-1 overall.

The loss for the 28-year-old Anglin was just the second of his 10 fight career and ended a seven-bout win streak for the UFC newcomer.
