Abdul Razak Alhassan only needed 17 seconds to finish Alessio Di Chirico at UFC Vegas 35.

Alhassan has built his reputation in the sport off of having fight-ending power. All nine of his previous wins came by first-round knockout, and the product of Texas continued that trend on Saturday night. The only difference this time was it was that this KO was the fastest finish of his 14 fight career, as he dispatched Italian talent, Di Chirico, in 17 seconds.

Seven seconds faster than his previous record of 25 seconds in his professional debut.

The victory was a must-win for Alhassan after losing his last three inside the Octagon and putting himself in a situation where his spot on the roster very well could have been on the line at UFC Vegas 35. He moves to 5-4 overall in the UFC.

Following a stunning KO win over Joaquin Buckley in January, “Manzo” has now lost four of his last five in the Octagon and falls to 4-6 in the promotion.
