‘Vegas’ Dave Oancea runs a consulting site for bettors. You may have heard about him when he won $2,500,000 on the Royals winning the 2015 World Series, or when he won and $2,300,000 on the Denver Broncos wining Super Bowl 50.

Last November he told MMAjunkie Radio that he was putting $10,000 down on Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey.

I’ll put $10,000 on that for fun, said Oancea at the time. I’ll put $10,000 on her every time against her and just keep doubling up, because eventually she’s going to lose – that’s my philosophy. It just takes one lucky punch. I’ll put $10,000 on her if they let me do it. I’ve got balls.

He ended up putting down not $10,000 on Holm, but $20,000, clearing $220,000.

I stick to what I’m good at,” he said, explaining why he mainly sticks to baseball and football. “If I bet boxing or MMA, I’d probably bet the underdog because it just takes one lucky punch to knock the person out, so why not take the underdog? I’ve got it down to football and baseball. I want to make people money.

But he did it again, this time betting $53,000 for Miesha Tate, and against Holm, in keeping with his strategy of betting on underdogs. Then he upped it to $77,000.

That netted him even more than the Holm win over Rousey did – $223,000.
