At UFC 199 in June, the main event and co main event stakes could not be higher. In the main event newly crowned UFC Middleweight champion Luke Rockhold makes his first defence in an immediate rematch against the man he took it from; Chris Weidman and prove it was no fluke.
Urijah Faber on the other hand is on the verge of what could be his final title shot against his arch rival reigning Bantamweight Champ Dominick Cruz, where the fighters hold a 1-1 record against each other.
Ahead of their respective title bouts against Chris Weidman and Dominick Cruz at UFC 199, Urijah Faber and Luke Rockhold made an appearance on ‘Hollywood Today Live’ to promote their bout but also to help train up the hosts Tanner and Kristin in the event they ever decide to take a break from hosting and take up mixed martial arts.
After handing off the belt to Kristin, Luke and Urijah start off the training by demonstrating a Faber’s speciality the guillotine choke, after careful observation Kristin opts to give it a go on the champ Luke Rockhold and after getting him down to the mat she successfully taps out the champion, making her the new and lineal UFC Middleweight champion of the world.
Luke Skyler Rockhold is the current UFC Middleweight champion. He won the title on December 12, 2015 by defeating prior champion Chris Weidman via 4th round TKO. He is also the last Strikeforce Middleweight Champion.
Urijah Christopher Faber is an American mixed martial artist, fighting as a bantamweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Faber is widely regarded as one of the sport’s pioneers for establishing legitimacy to lighter weight classes in MMA.
