The slapping game is a party type game where you are pretty much testing your reflexes against an opponent. You pretty much put your hands in front of you and try to move them out of the way before your opponent can make contact.

Though the slapping game doesn’t necessarily translate directly to fighting ability, reflexes and quick hands are definitely important when it comes to fighting. Also, there is a some psychology involved as well as you are trying to anticipate when your opponent is going to strike which can reveal itself in facial expressions or eye contact, etc.

We get to see some MMA fighters play the slapping game in this YouTube video, including current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and who does the best may surprise you.

Daniel Cormier won the vacant UFC 205lb belt in May of 2015 against the always dangerous Anthony Johnson via rear naked choke. He subsequently then successfully defended his belt against Swede Alexander Gustafsson who gave Jon Jones all he could handled several years back.

Also featured in this video is former UFC middleweight and welterweight fighter Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller as well as Strikeforce and Bellator fighter Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal.

Surprisingly enough though, it is not the fighters who are best at the slapping game in this video. It is actually MMA trainer Ryan Parsons who is also featured that performs the best it seems. He is able to disguise his attack well by often looking away or engaging the recipient in conversation to give them something to think about before swiftly slapping their hands. He has a very easy time against King Mo who proves to be quite slow at the game.
